Create a new hunter and Buddies
From the title menu, choose New Game and create your Hunter, Palico and Palamute in turn.
Change basic appearance at an Item Box
Open Item Box → Appearance Settings → Change Appearance. Basic changes such as hair, eyebrow color, facial hair, makeup and clothing do not require a Character Edit Voucher.
Use a Character Edit Voucher
For a fuller face or body redesign, use a Character Edit Voucher from the character-selection screen under Save Data Select.
Each voucher allows one edit and is consumed when you save the result. It does not change your character’s name.
Steam offers a one-time free single-voucher DLC. This is not unlimited free editing, and availability on another store or account should be checked separately.

If you want to change your hunter’s face, repeatedly checking the free basic-appearance menu will not replace the voucher workflow.
