Use a Master Rank quest
Prized Pelt is a Sunbreak Master Rank material. Choose a Master Rank quest or expedition containing Kelbi or Anteka, defeat the small monster and carve its body. Access to High Rank in the base game is not enough.
| Monster | Rank | Prized Pelt per body carve | Chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kelbi | Master Rank | ×1 | 30% |
| Anteka | Master Rank | ×1 | 18% |
Kelbi have the higher listed chance per carve. This comparison does not measure travel time or guarantee that a particular route is fastest. Use the quest map’s small-monster information to find your target in the expedition you actually selected.
Why you keep getting another pelt
Check the quest rank, rather than your hunter’s equipment. Low Rank Kelbi supply Warm Pelt; High Rank Kelbi supply High-quality Pelt. A character with Master Rank gear can still enter a lower-rank quest and receive its lower-rank rewards.
These are different crafting materials. A stock of Warm Pelt cannot substitute for Prized Pelt at the Smithy. Conversely, a request asking for Warm Pelt still needs that item after you unlock Sunbreak.
If a carve gives no pelt
A 30% chance applies to an individual Kelbi body carve. It does not guarantee a pelt every three or four attempts. Confirm that you selected Master Rank and carved the body, then continue with the same eligible source.
For the earlier materials, use the separate Warm Pelt or High-quality Pelt guide. If Master Rank is unavailable, check how to start Sunbreak first.
