Two reward routes for Malzeno Tail
For regular Master Rank Malzeno, the material table lists:
| Reward source | Malzeno Tail | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Carve the severed tail | ×1 | 80% |
| Target reward | ×1 | 10% |
| Carve the main body | Not listed | — |
The 10% value is a target-reward roll, not a promise that exactly one in ten completed quests gives a tail. Likewise, 80% does not guarantee the item every time you carve the severed tail.
If you cannot sever the tail
You can still receive Malzeno Tail from the target rewards of a successful eligible Malzeno quest. Tail severing adds access to the higher-chance carve; it is not the only listed source of the material.
If the tail is severed, remember to carve that separate tail. Carving the main body after the hunt uses a different table and does not replace the tail carve.
Check the monster and material name
This table is for Malzeno, not Primordial Malzeno. Do not assume a different monster’s reward list supplies the same tail material just because the names are similar.
Malzeno is an Elder Dragon and cannot be captured. Bringing traps to try to create capture rewards will not provide an alternative tail-farming route. See the capture rules for other monsters.
