Monster Hunter Rise Progression: Village, Hub and Sunbreak

At a glance

Follow Village or Hub quests, clear marked key quests and urgents, then meet Sunbreak’s separate entry requirement. Village completion is not High Rank.

Choose the quest counter for your goal

Your goal Where to progress
Learn solo in Kamura Village Quests; these stay Low Rank
Play multiplayer or reach High Rank Gathering Hub; 1★–3★ Low Rank, 4★ onward High Rank
Enter Master Rank Sunbreak, after its base-game entry requirement

Hub Quests can also be played solo. A lobby is not required simply to advance through the Hub.

Follow key quests, then the urgent

At your current quest level, look for the key-quest marker and progress indicator. Complete the required number of marked quests, then clear the urgent quest that opens the next level. Clearing unrelated optional quests does not replace an urgent.

Village stars and Hub stars belong to separate lists. Reaching Village 6★ does not mean you have reached Hub 6★ or High Rank.

Already advanced through the Village?

Special License Tests can shorten the earlier Low Rank Hub route when your Village progress is ahead of your Hub progress. Check the Village list for the tests as you advance. They may not appear if you have already passed the relevant Hub stage.

The last Special License Test opens access to The Blue Apex, the Hub urgent needed to reach High Rank. Completing the license test alone does not put you straight into HR4: clear that urgent too. See the Rampage guide if defending the gate is the remaining obstacle.

Move from Rise into Sunbreak

Own Sunbreak and clear the Hub 7★ Serpent Goddess of Thunder quest. Then follow the Sunbreak entry steps. Village story completion alone does not meet this requirement.

After Sunbreak’s main story, Master Rank and Anomaly Research become different progression tracks. Use the endgame guide to choose your next goal.
