Pick a progression track
Finishing Sunbreak’s main story is not the same goal as clearing every title-update monster or maximizing Anomaly Research. Choose the next objective instead of treating every available quest as the next story step.

Primordial Malzeno was added in the final Bonus Update. Its place at the end of the update schedule does not make it the main-story ending.
Master Rank is not Anomaly Research level
Anomaly Quests and Anomaly Investigations are different quest types. Investigations vary in target, location, time, allowed faints and player count. Check those conditions before joining or choosing a farming quest.
Your Anomaly Research level limits investigation level, and the maximum Research level is 300. Raise Research by completing investigations; breaking parts, gathering afflicted materials and hunting monsters during them also contribute points within their limits. Increasing MR alone is not a substitute for Research progression.
Prepare before forcing a harder quest
Upgrade armor with Armor Spheres for actual defense. Eat Dango for health and stamina, and read the activation chance of its skills. Spiribirds provide quest-long stat boosts within your Petalace’s limits; they are separate from armor defense upgrades.
Qurious Crafting has equipment and progression conditions. It is not the first fix for an unupgraded armor set. Check the Smithy’s available options for the weapon or Master Rank armor you are actually using.
What happens at investigation level 300?
Clearing a level-300 investigation as its host grants a Special Investigation for that investigation. The Special Investigation is awarded only once for that investigation. Completing it does not open another quest chain or provide special material rewards; completing many with different target monsters can earn a Badge of Heroes.
For a new Master Rank character, first review Sunbreak entry and Switch Skill unlocks rather than aiming immediately at this final research challenge.
